How to measure
We know walls come in all shapes and sizes, it’s one of the reasons we love them! For tips on measuring different wall types, scroll through the sketches below.
NOTE: We recommend adding 5-10cm / 2-4 inches to the dimensions for flexibility during installation.
Your wallpaper will be tailored precisely to your specified measurements during ordering.
Refer to the scenarios below for guidance on measuring various wall types.
Standard wall
Simply measure the full height and width of the wall. Don’t forget to double check your measurements — it's always a good idea to measure more than once to be safe. We only need the dimensions of the surface you'll be covering in wallpaper, so don't include skirting boards or coving.
Multiple walls
If you’re looking to wrap a wallpaper around multiple walls, simply combine the widths of each wall and submit the total width when ordering. There’s no need to order your wallpaper separately.
Sloped walls
When you have a sloped ceiling or wall, measure the longest and widest parts only, ignoring any sloped bits. If your order is a mural, we provide the design as a whole rectangle or square, and you cut away during installation when you come to the slope.
Pitched walls
If your wall has two slants, simply identify and measure the longest part of the wall in both the width and the height. Again, we will produce your mural as a square or rectangle, with the cutaways taking place during installation.
Wall with obstacles
When there is a door, window or other obstacle on your wall, measure the total width and height of the wall. You'll simply cut around the obstacle during installation. We can send you a preview of your wallpaper with the obstacles included if you send us a photo or sketch with measurements.
Staircases
Measure the wall at its peak width and height, disregarding any slopes. The inclined section and extra material are trimmed during installation.
